A BlankTV Feature Presentation:
The Ocean's Eyes - "Room Of Red"
Let The Ocean's Eyes Take You inside Their "Room of Red"
The Ocean's Eyes are a five piece alternative pop/rock band from London, UK. The band formed in May 2010, quickly developing a fanbase in their local area, playing venues such as the Underworld, the Camden Barfly, the Relentless Garage, and O2 Islington Academy2. They released their debut EP 'Lions' (Dan Lancaster, Glasseye Studios) to impressive reviews in January 2011, and continue to promote the tracks through their popular Facebook, MySpace and YouTube pages. The band's sound draws influences from various genres, blending pop soaked, harmony driven choruses with a raw but technical punk edge. The Ocean's Eyes have shared stages with the likes of Mallory Knox, Mimi Soya, Kids Can't Fly, Floods, Paige, The Morning Of and many more.
Their energetic live show has caused a stir across the country, demonstrating "such gusto it brings a whole new dimension" (hevypetal.com). The polished sound presented on CD is brought to a new level, with the eccentricity of the performance exploding across the whole venue, involving the crowd on all fronts. This, combined with the bands ongoing drive to promote themselves both at similar shows and online, has led to the band being a part of the Stop Drop Rock! Clothing tour in December 2011 with Taking Hayley and The Return.
The band's second EP, 'Lost Along the Way', was recorded with Ben Humphreys and James Billinge (Enter Shikari, You Me at Six, The Blackout) at Outhouse Studios, and was released through I Am Mighty Records on 24th October 2011. The tracks present a more mature sound, moving forward leaps and bounds from their debut release, and will be supported by a music video for the single, "Room of Red", which will be aired on BlankTV, as well as through other media outlets, from February 2012. This will be followed by a fifteen date UK tour supporting Room 94 in March.
