A BlankTV Feature Presentation:
Arthur Walwin - "All For You"
The video shows a couple who have gone through a recent tragedy and are trying to get through it. The girl is finding it really hard to cope and the guy does everything he can to make her feel better and get her through it.
We actually shot it all within a day. The whole band drove up to Tamworth in Birmingham, UK and we had a lot of help from 'Chasing Skylines', who's EP I produced earlier in the year. They let us use their practice room and loaned us some gear etc; it was really cool.
Also, the video was sponsored by 'Composed Clothing', which is owned by one of my best friends Mike, who plays bass in the video too.
Hailing from the South East of London, England, the newly signed Engineer Records artist has been building a name for himself with his YouTube covers and now, original material. The new release sees Arthur taking on the role of both artist and producer, giving him the freedom to incorporate many of his eclectic influences into his music. The songs are reminiscent of early Mayday Parade and some of the slower songs by artists like 'You Me At Six' and 'Paramore'. The EP is a departure from his band (Paige), however there are still shades of piano-lead American Pop/Rock in his songs.
The majority of "For One More Night" was recorded at Arthur's home studio in Essex, however the track "All For You" started in one of the drum rooms at his university (The Academy of Contemporary Music) and ended up at Matt o'Grady's studio in Woking, UK (You Me At Six, Deaf Havana).
The songs on the EP were written autobiographically about the relationships in Arthur's life, and read like a narrative or diary. The lyrics were often posted on his Tumblr way before the songs they would eventually belong to took proper form. Musically, the songs are softer and more delicate than anything he's done in the past, in order to accompany the deeply personal lyrical content.
